Simplify Your Home Theater with Automated Controls

Home theaters continue to become more and more complex.  This is in large part due to the expanding number of devices that can be used to display content.  In the old days a theater would have a DVD player, satellite receiver, CD player, and maybe an old VHS player.  Now days there are literally dozens of devices for watching all of your favorite content.

Simplify Your Control

One of the biggest difficulties homeowners have with their home theater system is an easy method of control.  For those that enjoy technology it is easy to remember all of the necessary steps to turn on their system and begin watching whatever content they wish.

But for others this quickly becomes an exercise in frustration.  And who can blame them?  A coffee table full of remotes and a list of instructions half a page long is just asking for trouble.  This is why at Innovative Sight & Sound we sell simple controls with every system we design.

One Remote to Control Them All

Those who are fans of the Lord of the Rings trilogy will recognize this quote.  And when it comes to controlling your theater system there is absolutely no reason that you should have to use more than one remote control.

Not only does this clear up the clutter on the coffee table.  But it also makes yours and your family's life much easier.  After all who enjoys doing technical support in the middle of the day just because your wife or the kids wants to watch TV and they can't get the sound to work?

A properly programmed remote should operate with the touch of a single button.  You want to watch TV?  No problem.  Simply press the button labeled 'Watch TV'.  The remote will handle turning on all of the necessary equipment and making sure that they are set to the proper input.

If you change your mind and want to watch a DVD just press the 'Watch DVD' button.  It doesn't get any easier than that.  When you're ready to power everything down you simply press the 'Power Off' button.

The Ultimate Theater Experience

In truly high end theaters there are opportunities to control other devices as well.  Turning on the system initiates a sequence in which the lights dim, the shades go down, and the show begins.

Today's automation controls can even control thermostats, allow you to monitor your security system, and even keep you abreast of energy management systems such as solar panels.
